Makes 4-6 Main Dish servings
Sauce
1 cup sliced mushrooms
¾ cup chopped onions
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil or cooking oil
2- 14 ½ ounce cans cut up tomatoes
1-6 ounce can tomato paste
2 tablespoons snipped fresh parsley
2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning, crushed
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ teaspoon black pepper

Meatballs

1 beaten egg
¾ cup soft bread crumbs (1 slice)
¼ cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons finely chopped green sweet pepper
¼ teaspoon dried oregano crushed
12 ounces ground beef

Shape meatball mixture into a 6”X4” rectangle and cut into 1 inch squares. Roll each square into a ball. Line a baking pan with foil and lightly grease or spray with cooking spray. Arrange meatballs on pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until no pink remains.
